Intelliworks Social Marketing: Product Introduction

Thursday, Mar 19, 2009

As many of you know, we recently introduced the Intelliworks Social Marketing application to enable colleges and universities to connect their social networking presence on sites like Facebook to their broader relationship management initiatives.  A few of the basic things this application allows you to do are:

1)  Provide a private/secure method of managing student inquiries submitted through the social network;

2)  Mass message your social networking community directly through the Intelliworks CRM platform;

3)  Manage your branding and publish content to all of your social network pages without having to login to each;

4)  Leverage data found on the social network across other channels such as email and phone;

5)  Connect students with their classmates based on shared attributes, such as their geographic location or most recent school they’ve attended.

We have recently made some important updates to Intelliworks Social Marketing that should increase the exposure of your content and help to keep your Contact List clean.

Recent News

Now when you add a Recent News item, that article will appear on the News feed of any Facebook Page where your Facebook Page has been added.  This will allow you to mass message directly from Intelliworks CRM.

Ideas on how to use Recent News:

·  Repost blog or news articles from your institutions website

·  Promote Events - you can even include the link to the Intelliworks Event Registration form

·  Promote Programs - include the link to the Online Application Form

·  Alert your constituents to Campus activities - construction, building closings, emergency broadcasts, etc.

Contact Verification

Until recently, whenever a Facebook user added your application a new Contact was created in Intelliworks - there was no Match/Merge process.  With the May 2nd release there is a robust solution to this issue.  When a Contact asks a question through your Facebook application they will be prompted to provide their Full Name and Email Address.  When they submit the question they will be prompted to verify their Email Address by clicking on a link in an email that was sent to them by Intelliworks.  Until they verify the Email Address, the question they asked will be held in a pending state and will not yet be a Case.  Once they verify, Intelliworks will compare the email address provided to any email addresses already in the system - if a match is found, the Contact will be updated and the Case created; if no match is found, a New Contact will be created along with the Case.

There are three major value points:

·  The Email Addresses of Facebook Contacts who are verified are golden - you know they are live addresses as they could not have verified without accessing the email account.

·  This will reduce duplicates in the system.

·  There is nothing to configure.  This entire process is handled automatically by your Intelliworks Facebook Application.
